Bishop entered the field of community banking in 1979, and has served Melbourne and greater Brevard for the length of his career. He began his tenure in the financial services industry with Flagship Bank of Melbourne, N.A., Melbourne. Throughout his storied career, he has gained experience in the areas of commercial lending, community involvement, and new business development. Most recently, he served as Vice President / Commercial Loans at Old Southern Bank, Orlando, where he was responsible for building a successful portfolio, while maintaining involvement in various civic organizations throughout Central Florida. Prior to that, Bishop spent 8 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Business Bank, Melbourne, a de novo institution, where he was instrumental in all elements of the bank’s development, while serving as an active Member of the Board of Directors. "I am very excited to be back in the Brevard county market and equally excited to be with a quality organization like BankFIRST," Bishop said. A graduate of Stetson University, DeLand, FL, Bishop received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne .
